Have you ever said something that brightened another person's day? Something as simple as, "You look nice today," can really change the outcome of their day. Now, think of how you can do this for yourself. You may not always be in a position to receive compliments so getting into your own head to make yourself feel better is a plus. These affirmations are positive, uplifting, inspiring, and empowering! No matter how positive I am, there are still days when I need a mental and emotional boost. Our thoughts and words hold an immense amount of power. A thought turns into a word, then turns into a feeling, which turns into an action. Think about making a mistake on a job. You say, "I'm stupid for doing that." If you think you're stupid, you'll feel stupid, you'll say stupid things and ultimately, you'll act stupid. Nothing becomes of the mistake. Now, what if you said, "I made a mistake...let me fix this." This is a solution-oriented thought. You did not admit to stupidity or shame. Only the mistake. Thinking about fixing the mistake is an encouraging thought. Guess what happens next? You've looked at the mistake as a teachable moment. Your problem-solving skills are ignited and you're putting your resources to great use so that you won't do it again.
Remember that everything you need is already within you. Take control of your precious mind and thoughts. Just like a plant, water it, love it, and watch it grow!
