I remember my first DIY project. I decided to turn some old Halloween glass containers into some "Glamdles" (glam candles). I watched one DIY video, https://youtu.be/4fS0SFraH80, and ran to my local craft shop for Epoxy Resin and glitter. I had already purchased a cup turner from Amazon. Looking back at the "tutorial" is cringy to say the least, but I did it! It was frustrating and messy, but fun! I learned so much about crafting with this project, but more importantly, I learned why I couldn't give up...and yes, I wanted to.

Get Started!
The best thing about DIY is there is no experience necessary. Everyone started out as an amateur. You absolutely have to get through the first project. There is no way around it. No matter how terrible you think you did, remember, it's a learning experience. You can only grow. There are a million videos out there to help, like, The Crafty CortRoom *cough, cough*
Challenge Yourself

My first interior decorating experience was
probably the scariest. My client believed in me more than I did. I wanted to throw up with so much anxiety. I panicked, left their house and went to the store. I wandered aimlessly. Talking to myself; half of me wanted to abandon ship, the other half wanted to show what I was made of. I decided to keep going. I came back to the house with a new attitude. I set a goal and I didn't leave until the first room (guest bathroom) was done. The entire job wasn't done but I know longer had that fear. And when I returned a few days later for the next room (living room), the job was done with ease. I know, this is bigger than simple DIY projects but anything new is a challenge you should accept and conquer.
Make It Fun
Don't take it too seriously. Listen to music, have a glass of wine, record yourself, or invite family or friends to join you. I personally like to watch comedies. Start out with #DollarTree items. You'll feel better about minor mistakes when you paid less than $15 for all supplies.
Show Your Creativity
Most people believe they are not creative. If you made cute crafts as a kid, you're creative! We lose touch of our imagination once we start to experience life, but that doesn't mean it's not there anymore. Allow your creative energy to flow freely. Learn from some tutorials and add your own twist! You got this!

We'll keep this post short. DIY projects are new and challenging but it doesn't take much instruction to get going. Tap into your creative intuition, accept a new challenge and conquer it.
